MONROVIA – A prominent Liberian woman, Bishop Dr. Celia Cuffy Brown Tobey has been ordained or enthroned as the second woman Archbishop of the Republic of Liberia.
Her Consecration/Coronation was led by a team of Ecumenical Synod of Bishops, Archbishops, Apostles and Senior Clergy Worldwide.
The first woman to be nominated as Archbishop was Bishop Dr. Matilda G. Tarr of Rhema Christian Ministry International Inc in 2021.
Archbishop in the Christian denomination is a bishop of higher rank or office. In most cases, such as the Catholic Church, there are many archbishops who either have jurisdiction over an ecclesiastical province in addition to their own archdiocese, or are otherwise granted a titular archbishopric.
Archbishop Dr. Celia Cuffy Tobey said her enthronement as Archbishop of the Republic of Liberia was inspired by God’s divine grace.
According to her, as Archbishop of the Liberia, she remains committed to interceding for the Country to ensure that Country is delivered from what she terms as captive that has impeded its growth since birth.
Archbishop Dr. Cuffy Brown Tobey made these assertions during her ordination over the weekend at the Christ Divine & Deliverance Ministry, Garden of Paradise Opposite New Redemption Hospital Upper Caldwell, Montserrado County, Liberia.
Archbishop Dr. Celia Cuffy Brown Tobey is the founder of the Christ Divine & Deliverance Ministry, Garden of Paradise located in Caldwell, Montserrado County.
She urged members of the public who were in attendance at coronation to be obedient to God’s words and committed to his services.
Archbishop Cuffy Brown Tobey indicated that only an obedient person can be used by God to lead his people.
She called Liberians to put God first in every endeavor and use the church in resolving issues of national concerns.
