Commerce and Industry Minister, Professor Wilson K. Tarpeh is calling on the Ministry’s Nimba County inspectors to exercise high degree of honesty, diligence and discipline in discharging their duties at all times.
Minister Tarpeh said commerce inspectors across Liberia play a key role in helping the Liberian government raise the needed revenue to help step up the country’s economy.
Professor Tarpeh however said the Commerce Ministry’s inspectors across Liberia may not effectively play their required role in the area of revenue generation in the absence of honesty, diligence and discipline.
He noted further that taking the three factors into consideration will ensure effective and unhindered revenue generation through collaboration, proper coordination and due respect for one another.
Commerce Minister Tarpeh also admonished members of the Ministry’s various inspectorates to always adhere to the chain of command and keep the team spirit alive in support of proper operations.
He also called on them to resist being tempted by unscrupulous individuals to flood the local market with unfit commodities, including other vices that could compromise the health of consumers and the country’s safety.
At the same time the Commerce and Industry Minister commended members of the Ministry’s Nimba County inspectorate for their hard work in the midst of constraints and assured them of government’s support to enhance their work.
Professor Tarpeh made the call recently when he held a brief meeting with members of the Commerce Ministry’s Nimba County inspectorate in Ganta City.
Speaking earlier, on behalf of their colleagues, Nimba County Senior Commerce Inspector, Nelson Korquoi and the Regional Commerce Coordinator for Bong, Lofa and Nimba Counties, John Kuoh, hailed Minister Tarpeh for the meeting.
Korquoi and Kuoh said they were touched by visit by Professor and vowed to always put Liberia first in executing their duties.
