Former Liberia Ambassador and Bong County Senatorial hopeful, Ambassador Jeremiah C. Sulunteh, has trashed rumor that he has accepted a government job in order to pull out of the pending 2020 election.
Speaking to The ANALYST in an interview with this paper recently in Gbarnga, Ambassador Sulunteh said at no time has he ever considered withdrawing from the upcoming 2020 senatorial election in exchange for job of any description.
The former Liberian diplomat admitted been engaged to aid the Liberian government in a number of Foreign Service areas; but he noted that the terms and conditions were not agreed.
He told his supporters not to be distracted by such rumor, saying no amount of political tactics will discourage him from participating in the 2020 Senatorial Election for the County’s seat.
Ambassador Sulunteh indicated that the widespread rumor is the work of his opponents, who he said are uncomfortable with his participation in the process.
“I am confident by my decision to become a candidate for the Alternative National Congress (ANC), a party that is able and prepared to move this country forward in the right direction.
He assured his supporters that he will remain in the race until the National Elections Commission blows the final whistle in 2020.
The former official of government promised to play a key role in the much talked about reconciliation of the county if elected senator in 2020.
It can be recall that the Political leader of the ANC, Alexander C. Cumming, endorsed Ambassador Slunteh as the Bong County Senatorial aspirant for the ANC in the county.
Slunteh served past government as Minister of Transport; Minister of Post and Telecommunication, and Minister of Labor Minister.
