MONROVIA – Recently nominated by President Joseph Nyuma Boakai and confirmed by the Liberian Senate, John A. Ballout, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Liberia to the Federal Republic of Nigeria arrived in Abuja on Monday, September 15, 2025, to formally commence his diplomatic duties.
According a release from the Liberian Embassy in Abuja, Ambassador Lormia formally welcomed Ambassador Ballout and his lovely wife to the Federal Republic of Nigeria and wish him a successful tour of duty. He informed Ambassador Ballout that Nigeria and Nigerians are generally warm, hospitable and affectionate towards Liberia and Liberians, and added that Liberia stands to gain more from Nigeria through the pursuit of strong and positive relations.
Ambassador John A. Ballout, an esteemed diplomat with extensive experience in international relations and diplomatic service, arrived in Abuja on September 15, 2025 and was received by officials from the Liberian Embassy, led by Ambassador Robert Y. Lormia, II, Charge d’Affaires.
His Excellency is eager to strengthen the longstanding ties of friendship, cooperation, and mutual development between Liberia and Nigeria. In his capacity as Liberia’s envoy, Ambassador Ballout aims to enhance bilateral relations in various sectors including trade, investment, cultural exchange, and regional security. He indicated that, Liberia is committed to fostering a productive partnership with Nigeria, leveraging shared interests to benefit both nations and their people.
Addressing members of the diplomatic staff upon his arrival, Ambassador Ballout expressed his gratitude for the warm reception and reaffirmed his dedication to representing Liberia’s interests with utmost commitment and integrity. He emphasized his intention to work closely with Nigerian authorities and other partners including the ECOWAS. Ambassador Ballout emphasized the importance of bilateral cooperation in areas such as trade, investment, education, and cultural exchange, and pledged to work tirelessly to deepen partnership between the two nations.
