In lamentation for the demise of his wife, the husband of Montserrado County District #9 Representative, the late Munah Pelham-Youngblood, Dr. Raymond Youngblood, reacted to tons of comforting messages of condolence through text messages and calls, says with his Instagram post being the first of specific instructions to him by his wife, he will have much to say later. Raymond, in his pains and distress, also begs the public to respect family’s privacy.
His social media lamentation comes at a time when the nation mourns the tragic death of the astute lawmaker of Montserrado County District #9 Representative, Hon. Pelham-Youngblood, which triggers messages of condolence that continue to pour in from friends, family, sympathizers, government officials and well-wishers.
In response to the tons of comforting messages emanating from the public, the husband of the fallen lawmaker, while commending all who offered their condolences through text messages and calls however prays that the public honorably respect the privacy of the Youngblood family, although he did not mention how and where the family’s privacy was invaded .
“It pains me to write this at such a dire time in our lives: my loving wife, Hon. Munah E. Pelham-Youngblood and mother of all our children has passed away. I have received many calls from family and friends. Those calls and texts messages are more than welcoming and have been a comforting Godsend. I also ask that you be mindful that our family, local and abroad, deserves your honorable respect,” Mr. Raymond Youngblood lamented.
“Later on, I will have much to say as my wife gave me specific instructions that I will surely complete and carry out. I am also very aware of those thrusts to supersede her ambition. This message is the first of those instructions. She also made me promise to continue to share my life and skills with Africa as I do in South America, and the USA, I will. For the sake of my wife’s wishes and the Pelham-Youngblood Plan to empower people, develop communities, and build a Legacy, I will. For Munah, those of us who love her, we will,” Mr. Youngblood promised in a social media post Thursday, July 9, 2020.
According to Mr. Youngblood, he also asks the public to understand that his family will miss his Uncle Ivory “Head” Hooper, whom Munah loved.
“He always asked about her. She also adored him. She recently asked about him last week, and when I called her to tell her of his passing, she was heartbroken. I mention this to remind the world that more than one person can hurt; more than one side of a family can hurt.
Our family asked for your prayers, and we will continue to give ours with love, peace and affection,” a distraught Youngblood opined.
News about Representative Youngblood’s death on Wednesday, July 8, 2020 left the entire country in shock, coming hot on the heels of the death of another CDC lawmaker, Representative Jay Nagbe Sloh.
“The death of any Liberian or another human being is a great loss for all humanity. It reminds us about our own mortality. We are indeed saddened by this unspeakable loss,” laments a key opposition figure.
Representative Youngblood is survived by her husband, Dr. Youngblood, a daughter and her mother.
A career diplomat, Representative Youngblood is a graduate of the Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida Graduate School of International Relations, University of Liberia.
She sponsored many projects not only within her district but nationwide that promoted the education and empowerment of young girls.
