Woman of Humanity & Compassion – Visiting Nigerian Prelate Describes VP Taylor – Makes Donation in the Tune of 270.000USD

The Nigerian prelate and philanthropist, Reverend Esther Abimbola Ajayi on day two of her visit to Liberia donated three buses to groups representing the disabled community. The presentation ceremony was held on the grounds of Capitol Building on Capitol Hill in Monrovia on Tuesday, January 15, 2019.  The groups that received the buses are, the Group of 77, Mission of Hope and the Antoinette Tubman Cheshire Home. Rev. Ajayi’s gesture also cuts across people living with disabilities as far as the Prelate’s love for giving is concerned when she also reached out to the Liberia Crusader for Peace with a cash donation of Twenty Thousand United States Dollars.

The Group of 77 received a twenty eight seated bus with 25,000USD, Mission of Hope also received a twenty eight seated bus with 25,000USD and the Antoinette Tubman Cheshire Home received a mini bus with a one year insurance and maintenance of the bus.

According to Vice President Howard-Taylor, the cost of the donation is estimated at about 270,000USD and she was grateful to have Rev. Mother for her humanitarian gesture in the country.  VP Taylor recounted the tour at various sites of the disabled community during the first visit of Mother Teresa of Africa and Mother Ajayi  to Liberia and mentioned that it is in the spirit of Love and Unity that anything can be done. She also thanked Mother Teresa and Mother Ajayi, as well as  the entire Ajayi’s Foundation for the donation.

The Liberia Vice President extended heartfelt thanks to Rev. Mother Esther Abimbola Ajayi for the fulfillment of her promises through the foundation and urged others to see her role played as a good example.

In response, Rev. Mother Ajahi’s emphasized, “If God is with you on a mission, the mission becomes so easy”. She also expressed gratitude by saying that it was just the beginning of a happy relationship amongst the various groups of physically challenged people of Liberia through the Government of Liberia.

The program was attended by several dignitaries including the Speaker of the House of Representatives and the President Pro-Tempore of the Liberian Senate. House Speaker Dr. Bhofal Chambers expressed profound gratitude to the Ajayi’s Foundation for the significant contribution towards humanity.

Also speaking was the Senate Pro-Temp,. Albert Chea who said the Legislature was honored by the Woman of God for the goodwill gesture. Hon. Chea also thanked Vice President Howard-Taylor for her guests into the country and assured that the issue of support to the disabled community will be considered highly on the Legislative Agenda.

The Woman of God on Monday at a major press conference held in Monrovia upon her arrival in Liberia said she is a guest of the country and is being hosted by Vice President, Chief Dr. Jewel Howard-Taylor who she described as a woman full of humanity and compassion.

The female Pastor and a servant of the Most High God said she was grateful to note that Vice President Howard-Taylor was a woman full of humanity and compassion. “Humility will always come before honor” Rev. Ajayi said as she continued her commendations on the goodwill of Vice President Taylor.

According to the Prelate, she has travelled around the world and has interacted with many personalities but what she has seen in the Vice President is extraordinarily great and rewarding.

She also said promises that people make are between them and God who is their Creator and therefore those promises must be fulfilled.

The Prelate in her elaboration quoted several scriptures biblically in support of making promises of given, including John 1:1 and others. She maintained that you don’t have to be a billionaire before you can give to someone; giving, she noted, goes by character and just a little counts. She noted that it would have been far better only if Africans could help Africans – if one person helps one person, the other person will help another…”

On her part, Vice President Howard-Taylor attributed the current visit of the Nigerian prelate in the country to previous visit made a few months back. In her statement made, Rev. Ajayi and her entourage were taken on a guided tour to places with people living with disabilities, including the Group of 77 that was established some years ago, during the regime of the late President William R. Tolbert, Jr.

Making it known that the Group of 77 Project was initiated as a result of the interest of a former First Lady’s interest, the wife of President Tolbert staunch engagement and friendship with others.

The creation of the Group of 77 was intended to provide support for the physically challenged in areas of academic and skills training programs.

Vice President Howard-Taylor also said her recent visit to South Beach Community down Gurley Street took a humanitarian posture which reminded her of other important things as it relates to people living with disability.

She alluded to the fact that government has embarked upon road connectivity across the country, but noted that there are other key factors that need to be considered in order to improve the social and economy lives of the people, especially those who are physically challenged.

She mentioned the recent inclusion of about 3,000 nurses on government payroll; and other efforts towards the inclusion of voluntary teachers on the payroll as well.

“These are all efforts intended to buttress the dream of the President Weah so as to lift the Pro-Poor Agenda for Development higher”, she said.
