MONROVIA: The Embassy of the United States of America has announced that the US Deputy Assistant Secretary for West African Affairs Michael Heath will pay a visit to Liberia from September 27-29, 2023.
According to a press statement from the Embassy his three day trip will focus on US-Liberia relations and Liberia’s upcoming national elections on October 10, 2023.
“During his visit, he will focus on press freedom and countering disinformation, media empowerment, government accountability, civil society, and Liberia’s democratic processes”, the release said.
The release further said Deputy Assistant Secretary Heath will meet with government officials and civil society organizations, election observation missions, media outlets and press, U.S. exchange alumni, and U.S. diplomatic mission staff and will also hold a press roundtable event at the U.S. Embassy.
