‘Renew Your Work Permits Or Face Tougher Penalties’ -Labor Ministry Urges ECOWAs Citizens

MONROVIA: Labour Minister Cllr. Cooper W. Kruah is Urging ECOWAS Citizens in Liberia to obtain or renew their Work Permits or face Tougher Penalties.

A Labour Ministry press release signed by its Deputy Communication and Public Affairs Director E. Frederick Baye quoted Labor Minister Kruah as urging ECOWAS citizens working in the informal and informal labour sectors across the country to comply with this Government regulations requiring them to obtain or renew alien work permits annually or face tough actions for violation in keeping with standing Decent Work Act Regulations.

Minister Kruah further re-echoed earlier calls on other alien workers hired by concession companies to meet up with their alien work permit requirements, as stipulated by law or face the wrath of the Labour Ministry.

He reminded that teams of Labour Inspectors and alien work permit verification experts from the Ministry will next week commence more rigorous field inspection and follow-ups with entities already covered by the exercise.

A Labour Ministry Press bulletin released yesterday further quoted Labour Minister Kruah as disclosing further that why Government Central Tax Collection entity, the LRA, is targeting at least One Billion  United States dollars for vital public sector services in this fiscal budgetary year, the Labour Ministry is aiming to net in over Ten Million United States Dollars as a substantial component to Government Domestic revenue grid.

The Labour Minister  promised to achieve this objective under the: ‘ Think Liberia, Love Liberia, Build Liberia’ ARREST AGENDA’ of President Joseph Nyumah Boakai.
