The National Civil Society Union of Liberia (NACSUL) lauds the nomination by President George Manneh Weah of Madam Mawine G. Diggs as the minister-designate of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, and thanks the president for his commitment to more women involvement in the CDC-led government, while calling the senate to speedily confirm her.
According to a Tuesday, October 6, 2020 press release from the National Civil Society Union of Liberia (NACSUL) is pleased with the decision by President Weah to appoint Madam Mawine G. Diggs as Minister Designate of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry pending swift senate confirmation.
“NACSUL takes pleasure in this decision owing to the fact that the appointee is a well-rounded, qualified and an experienced governmental material who has been diligently providing her earnest services to various entities within in government for a very prolong period, and has proven over the years to be a symbol of integrity, a vessel of moral reliance, hard work and a reliable resource to the public sector,” NACSUL stated.
The civil society union further intoned that the huge academic and professional expertise of Madam Diggs are the solid bases on which it takes pleasure in her appointment, and resolved to support her confirmation with all the resources, human and material, at their disposal.
“Madam Mawine G. Diggs who stands to be confirmed shortly by the senate bags several academic qualifications ranging from PhD in higher education leadership currently from the National American University located in Rapid city USA, Master of Education, M.Ed. with a specialty in counselor Education and student affairs Administration from Clemson University, Clemson, SC. and a Bachelor of Arts, BA, in Environmental policy and sociology from Roanoke College, Salem, VA.
