‘Oum El Nour’ Liberia Dedicates Renovated Rehabilitation Center -Says Helping Liberia’s At-Risk Youth, Reducing Drug Use Is Priority

MONROVIA: The leadership of “Oum El Nour” Liberia or World of Light, in collaboration with the World Lebanese Cultural Union (WLCU), on Wednesday, May 29, 2024 dedicated a newly renovated and well-furnished rehabilitation center in German Camp, Grand Bassa County.

The ceremony was graced by several dignitaries, including the United Nations Coordinator to Liberia, Christine Umutoni, Youth and Sports Minister Cllr. Jeror Cole Bangalu who proxied for the Liberian President, the Lebanese Ambassador to Liberia and serving other officials of Government.

The organization’s General Manager, Abdallah Chahni, thanked the Government of Liberia for providing them with 30-acre of land, and the opportunity to serve the Liberian people in reducing the high rate of drugs by constructing the rehabilitation and vocational center in Grand Bassa, specifically German Camp.

Mr. Chahni used the occasion to heap praises on the vision bearer of Oum El Nour or Mother of Light, Bishop Guy Paul Noujaim, for his numerous humanitarian assistance, and for visiting Liberia to cut the ribbon to the newly renovated rehabilitation center aimed helping to handle widespread drugs addiction in Liberia.

Delivering the keynote address on behalf of President Joseph Nyuma Boakai at the program, the Youth and Sports Minister, Cllr. Jeror Cole Bangalu, thanked the vision Bearer of the organization, Bishop Guy Paul Noujaim, for bringing mental relief to the Liberian youthful population who have been addicted to narcotic substances

He gave assurance of the Liberian Government’s support towards the success of the organization.

Several invitees at the program, who made respective remarks, also praised the organization and its vision bearer for been thoughtful to restore the lost image of those who abuse dangerous substances.

For her part, the United Nations Coordinator to Liberia Christine Umutoni extolled “Oum El Nour” Liberia or World of Light for its humanitarian programs in Liberia, noting that UN was prepared to work with organization in bringing relief to the country’s youthful population, many of whom are drowning drug addiction.

Two of the beneficiaries of “Oum El Nour” Liberia or World of Light’s program, a male and female, gave their respective testimonies how they were drawn in drug addiction over the years and how they were made outcasts in their respective communities by friends and families.

They also testified that they were rescued by the organization—assistance for which each of them expressed thanks and appreciation to the organization and its vision bearer.

The center offers a variety of treatments that allow individuals who are abusing substance and suffering mental disorder to be restored, drug-free.
