MONROVIA: July 17 protest’s lead organizer, Mulbah Morlu says the entire Unity Party government is a composite of criminals, racketeers—individuals he said that lack the capacity and disregard the rule of law, exploiting the corridors of power.

“It is time to tell them: Enough is Enough,” the STAND chief said in special remarks at the Capitol Building while thousands of protesters looked on.

He said it was time for Joseph Boakai to ensure that all corrupt officials that are listed are immediately dismissed in protester’s petition, including Koffi Woods, one of the most corrupt officials in this government and in this country, Mamaka Bility, Roland Giddings of the Ministry of Public Works be dismissed with immediate effect.

“The head of the EPS must also be dismissed with immediate effect,” he said, and added: “It is time for President Boakai to pay attention to the people. It’s time to lift the restrictions on the free movement of all motorbike riders. It is time to pay attention to military barracks, where men and women of the Armed Forces of Liberia are subjected to suffering, to a condition that is unbearable where ten members of one family are bundled in one room, where there are no toilets, and their salaries do not commensurate with their sacrifices. It is time for Boakai to also pay attention to the living conditions of the men and women of the Armed Forces of Liberia and their family members.”

Speaking directly to the protesters who were drenched, Morlu asserted: “Let me tell you this: what you have done is unprecedented. This protest will go down in history as the greatest and the largest non-violent civil societal protest in the history of the Republic of Liberia.”

He described the protesters as the heroes and heroines of the new Liberia.

“Boakai has no choice but to listen to the demands of the people,” he continued. “Boakai has disrespected you because all power is inherent in the people. It is your right to peacefully converge, and your safety and security are guaranteed. But for President Boakai to have refused to come here to his bosses, to his employers and receive the list of their grievances, constitutes the biggest and most egregious disrespect of a president to his people. And for doing that, you must understand there will be specific political consequences he will encounter as President.”

Hello there is an artist that says before you kill your goat, you give it enough water.

“We are giving President Boakai a maximum of fourteen days to respond to the petition that was submitted,” he emphasized. “If Joseph N. Boakai does not respond to the certification of the people, we are coming back to announce the main protest outside. We will announce the main protest date. This time, it will be nationwide. If Joseph Boakai make it a habit to disrespect you, to be corrupt, to be insensitive to your plight, we will make it our national duty to protest. We will never stop protesting until Joseph N. Boakai comes and submits to the demands of the people of Liberia.”

Continuing his special remarks at the protest, Morlu said: “Again fourteen (14) days. If Boakai does not publicly acknowledge and begin to meet the demands of the hundreds of thousands or the millions of Liberians who are disenfranchised and feel left out, we will come back and announce the main protest. Today’s protest is child’s play — we’re just warming up. The next protest that will be called will be nationwide. It will take place in D.C., it will take place in Brussels. And at that protest, the demands will be far greater than the demands we are submitting today.”

“So, if Boakai knows what I know, we are giving a maximum of fourteen days, or else he will hear from the counties the fifteen counties of the Republic of Liberia,” he stressed. “As you are going back home, remember: you have defeated their expectations. They are angry. They will try to provoke you. Do not mind them. Go home peacefully. Let’s give him fourteen (14) days to come back to us. If he does not come back in fourteen (14) days, I can assure you  they will hear from us. And this time around, there will be the greatest re-convergence of the masses, with demands far greater than those of today.”
