MONROVIA – The office of the Vision Bearer of the People’s Liberation Party (PLP), Dr. Daniel E. Cassell, has warned the party to tread gingerly when it comes to joining the Collaborating Political Parties (CPP) or any other collaboration for that matter. Citing Article V section 5.1(a) (GPC] and 5.3[2) GC of the PLP’s constitution, Dr. Cassell stated that “the Party’s Leader/Standard Bearer shall have veto power regarding decisions emanating from the General Policy Commission (GPC) and the Governing Council (GC) respectively that seeks to undermine the stability of the party and jeopardizes its chances of assuming state power”.
The PLP Vision Bearer’s office made the assertion in a press release dated August 2, 2022, in respect to media reports attributed to the PLP Chairman Tapple E. Doe as stating, “Mr. Chairman, following review of your invitation and based on the discussion that we have bud with you all, the People’s Liberation Party (PLP) hereby accepts your invitation to join the CPP”.
Clarifying further, the office of the Vision Bearer of the People’s Liberation Party noted that the PLP is open to every possible collaboration that would be based only on new terms and conditions or new framework; and that the PLP’s proceeding with negotiating the possibility of collaboration will be from a position of strength.
“Article V section 5.1(a) (GPC] and 5.3[2) GC of the PLP’s constitution similarly states that “the Party’s Political Leader/Standard Bearer shall have veto power regarding decisions emanating from the General Policy Commission (GPC) and the Governing council (GC) respectively that seeks to Undermine the stability of the party and jeopardizes its chances oi assuming state power” will be put into effect at any time deemed necessary. Members of the General Policy Commission (GPC) of the PLP are encouraged to take keen note of this Communication as they embark on or continue with any endeavor for the party,” the press release stated.
“A clarion call to all liberators, national executive members, county chairpersons and partisans across the Country to keep hope alive and focus on discharging the duties and functions of their respective offices as the standard bearer‘s arrival back to Liberia to continue party works is certain and near,” the release signed by National Deputy Secretary General for information and Technology, Seku B. Kamara; and approved by Vision/Standard Bearer Dr. Daniel E. Cassell stated.
