The First Lady, Mrs. Clair Marie Weah, being overwhelmed by the hospitality and warm welcome she received from the people of Bomi County, said she has adopted Bomi as her second home and promised to do everything possible within her reach to make the people happy.
Mrs. Weah made the statement as part of her parting comments rounding up her visit to the county. She said although she has been visiting Bomi County on couple of occasions, the present visit was her official one while accompanying her husband, President George Manneh Weah on the tour.
When asked what message she has for the women of Bomi County, she said, her message for the women is almost the same she has been telling the other women of Liberia in all the places she has visited, that she knows the conditions they are experiencing whether as mothers, market women or women in any category or status they find themselves.
“The message I have is almost the same message I have told other women wherever I have gone. I understand their plights and I have always told them that I will try to do the best I can to bring relief to them. The government is doing creditably well for the rural women and we are going to play our part to alleviate the plights of the women”, Mrs. Weah said.
The First Lady said she could not belief that Bomi County was such a beautiful place and could not believe that Liberia has such wonderful and beautiful places.
She spoke profoundly about the tourism potentials of the county which could be tapped into by enlisting the interest of foreign investors to come in and take a look at the Blue Lake arena so as to create jobs and other opportunities for the local people
For his part, President Weah told the people of Bomi County to be resilient and hopeful for a better future and to continue to keep the peace. He praised the people for huge the welcome he and his entourage received and the hospitality accorded them throughout their stay the county.
In similar vein, he concurred with his wife that Bomi will be their second home and will assist in any way possible to help the people.
