A major concessionaire in the mining sector of the economy, Bea Mountain Mining Company (BMMC) operating in Grand Cape Mount County has made several donations to about 150 elderly people in Dablo Clan, Gola Koneh District as part of the company’s way of assisting the elderly in communities where it operates.
Speaking on Wednesday, August 10, 2022 at the program the Community Relations Superintendent, Mr. Henry Vincent said the company attaches importance to old folks and will ensure that they are always catered for in order to meet some of their feeding needs. The donation included 150 bags of rice, 30 gallons of oil and other assorted food and non-food items.
According to news from the program, the donation which was well received by the recipients and other residents in the area is not the first time such a humanitarian gesture was made as similar assistance was extended on previous occasions which occurred quarterly. However, it was stated that the current donation was the biggest of all previous initiatives.
Speaking at the well attended event, Mr. Abraham Fofana, Chairman of the Steering committee in the district, commended the company for the level of support. “We accept what you have done for us old people. In the past, it was only given to 15 people, but now, you have increased it to 150 old folks here. We want to thank the management”, adding “If you promised and fulfilled, it is good and God can bless you. So, thank you for fulfilling your promise, “.
He further stated that he was not surprised about the good will because the company, besides what has been given to the older people, has also contributed in so many ways for the development and benefits of the people in its operational areas.
