A former student leader at the University of Liberia and one of the renowned veterans of the Vanguard Student Unification Party (SUP) has vehemently condemned the disgusting act of violence against peaceful students of the Student Unification Party (SUP) carried out by members of the CDC-COP on July 26, 2022 while the students were protesting against some of the government’s missteps in the country.
Senator Conmany B. Wesseh of River Gee County, while receiving some group of concerned citizens regarding the dehumanizing hooliganism perpetrated by the CDC COP within the proximity of the US Embassy near Monrovia, has joined other well-meaning Liberians to condemn the disgusting act which was captured on vivid videos and circulated on various media platforms.
Senator Wesseh reiterated that the petition by the students to the US Mission was also received by members of the Liberian Senate which was done in a peaceful manner without any form of violence at the Capitol Building.
Speaking from his Capitol Building office, recently, Senator Wesseh who himself was directly affected like other Liberians during the civil war, expressed the need to discourage all forms of violence, or else the citizens could negatively get affected by these kinds of conflicts again.
While emphasizing further the lawmaker who is always advocating for justice and peace, evidence of his contributing roles in the attainment of peace and security in the country, frowned on those who are in authority agitating violence by hiring thugs to disrupt normal activities should not be allowed to move around freely.
He wondered why people in the ruling party continue to be confronted with vices that helped to undermine good governance practices, mostly officials who are always being seen in conflicting areas.
