MoCI Celebrates World MSMEs Day Friday -Digital Transformation Theme Drives Congo Town Event

MONROVIA – The Ministry of Commerce and Industry is joining global partners on June 26 to mark World Micro-Small and Medium-sized Enterprises Day. The celebration, to be held at the EJS Ministerial Complex in Congo Town beginning at 9:00 a.m., is expected to draw approximately 700 participants from the private and public sectors, including petty traders, women-led MSMEs, the Liberia Business Association, and representatives of foreign missions. The theme for the occasion is “Strengthening MSMEs through Digital Transformation and Inclusion.” The event will feature panel discussions, networking opportunities, recognition of outstanding Liberian-owned MSMEs, and a parade. The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) will join global counterparts on Friday, June 26, 2026, to celebrate the 2026 Micro-Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs) Day at the EJS Ministerial Complex in Congo Town, beginning at 9:00 a.m.

The ceremony, held in collaboration with several local and international institutions drawn from the private and public sectors, is expected to attract approximately 700 participants.

The program will bring together the Liberia Business Association (LIBA), petty traders, women-led local MSMEs, youth representatives, and others.

The event is also expected to feature separate remarks from a number of dignitaries representing foreign missions and financial institutions in the country. The theme for the occasion is “Strengthening MSMEs through Digital Transformation and Inclusion.”

Panels, Parade, Awards on the Agenda

Other aspects of the program include panel discussions, networking engagements, recognition of outstanding Liberian-owned MSMEs, a parade, and discussions on impactful topics geared toward highlighting the contributions of MSMEs to the growth and development of global economies, including Liberia.

The occasion is in accordance with the United Nations General Assembly’s decision to recognize and raise awareness about the significant role of Micro-Small and Medium-sized Enterprises in promoting sustainable development and their contributions to various economies.
