Not having the least inkling that fate was going to bring smile his way, young Sakay Emmanuel Giah of Brand Bassa County became one of the most recent beneficiaries of Senate Pro Tempore Nyonblee Karnga_Lawrence’s countless support to the youths of Grand Bassa County, and by extension to many other Liberians, in pursuit of higher education abroad.
Student Giah, a 2020 graduate of the Stella Maris Polytechnic engineering college traveled to the Peoples Republic of China January 30, 2025, to begin a two-year post graduate study at the Central South University, in Changsha province, where he will be reading Traffic and Transportation Engineering (Railroad).
The fully funded scholarship by the Chinese Government, but made possible by Senator Lawarence, is a first-class scholarship with several requirements that include maintaining a 3.0 GPA.
Sakay Giah joined 25 other beneficiaries from eight countries, including students from neighboring Sierra Leone.
