MONROVIA: Naming his running for the ensuing 2023 Presidential race, the Standard Bearer of the Opposition Vision for Liberia Transformation Party (VOLT), Dr. Jeremiah Z. Whapoe has expressed dismay over how the country has lost sense of direction under the Weah-led government, stressing that the time has come for total redemption and transformation of the people of Liberia.
“We have the Transformational road map to transform Liberia and make it will be respectable again. This country has lost sense of direction under this administration and so it is time for us to redeem and transform Liberia,” he said.
The VOLT presidential hopeful also expressed the belief that with the help of his running mate, “we will make unity, Development and religious tolerance for all Liberian to live in peace and harmony their priorities.”
Dr. Whapoe made the statement, on Thursday, July 6, 2023 at the National Headquarters of VOLT, on the Old Road, Airfield when he named and announced Mr. Erasmus Daoda Fahnbulleh as his running mate for the ensuing 10 October 2023 general elections.
His running mate is from Grand Cape Mount County and has an in-depth understanding in agriculture. Introducing his Vice Standard-bearer, Dr. Whapoe said Mr. Fahnbulleh served Grand Cape Mountainians through the Ministry of Agriculture. Mr. Fahnbulleh is also the current Chairman of the party.
In his statement, Whapoe described the VOLT ticket as “Transformational”, noting that the collaboration of he and his Vice Standard-bearer will liberate Liberians from poverty through the implementation of agricultural productivity.
Dozens of partisans, sympathizers and well-wishers of VOLT – particularly women, youth as well as prominent citizens from across the country gathered at the national headquarters of VOLT, Old Road, Airfield Parking for the grand pronouncement of the running mate of Dr. Whapoe.
Officially announcing his running mate, Dr. Whapoe accentuated that God mandated him to look in his house and lift someone who has the spirit of unity and self-sufficiency with an insight of his vision, the vision of VOLT.
Stating further reason for selecting Mr. Fahnbulleh as running mate, Dr. Whapoe noted that his vice Standard Bearer is a religious person who uplifts religious tolerance to the political space of Liberia and believes he would promote unity and togetherness.
“I am here today to tell you that I will be on the ballot. My running mate is somebody you already know because God has chosen him. My vice Standard Bearer is someone who has the heart of God and believes in agriculture like me.
“I am excited to announce to you Mr. Erasmus Daoda Fahnbulleh as my running mate in the upcoming October 10 presidential and legislative elections,” Dr. Whapoe noted.
The VOLT’s ticket, according to Dr. Whapoe, will defeat poverty and make Liberia self-reliant in food production through mechanized farming.
