“We Will Resist Vehemently If …” -Pleebo-Sodoken Elders Vow to Protect Election Result

MONROVIA: The Elders Council of the Pleebo-Sodoken District has issued a resolution stating that the people of the district, with all due respect and without FEAR and FAVOR, will resist vehemently any alteration in the result announced by the National Elections Commission (NEC) that named their son Anthony Flay Williams as  their representative for the next six (6) years in the House of Representatives.

The resolution noted that the citizens, chiefs, men, women, youth and residents of the Pleebo-Sodoken District have spoken in electing their Representative through the ballot box; noting that the people of the Pleebo-Sodoken District, Maryland County, have made their CHOICE and their DECISION must be respected by the Government Agency responsible for Electoral activities in the Country.

Elders Council of the Pleebo-Sodoken District indicated in their resolution dated October 10, 2023 that the people of the Pleebo-Sodoken District, both at home, Montserrado County and its environ as well as those in the Diaspora gave God the glory and congratulate the Government of Liberia for the Peaceful conduct of the General and Presidential Elections seeking a new breed of people in leadership.

“Whereas, the Magistrate and Co-workers in Maryland County have meticulously tabulated and collated the TALLIED SHEET containing the VOTES with each party being represented,” the resolution signed by the Elders Council Chairman Peter D. Hne indicated further, noting, “… the Magistrate, co-workers and Parties’ Representatives and Observers have screened and scrutinized each candidates’ achievement during the voting process before assigning all Candidate the VOTES obtained.”

According to the resolution, the People of the Pleebo-Sodoken District have put the FEET of the incumbent candidate on the plate for GOOD Eighteen (18) years consecutively, but have now realized the wind of change to electing their own.

The resolution finally asserted that the people of the Pleebo-Sodoken District thanked the National Election Commission Family for a job well done, and feel please this time that they have their own son Representative-elect Anthony Flay Williams as their representative for the next six (6) years; “Anything falls short of this result, with all due respect and without fear and favor, will be resisted vehemently by the people of the Pleebo-Sodoken District,” he vowed.

They then invite the blessings of God upon their choice when they conclude their resolution by saying, “May the Almighty God Bless the CHOICE of the People of the Pleebo-Sodoken District and prosper the works of the National Elections Commission, So be it!”
