MONROVIA – The biggest institution of high learning in southeastern Liberia located in Harper City, Maryland County on Monday December 2, 2024, graduated three hundred forty-three students from the college of Agriculture and Food Science, College of Arts and Sciences, College of Education, College of Engineering and Technology, College of Health Sciences, and College of Business Administration.

William V.S. Tubman University, formerly Tubman Technical College, is the only tertiary institution in the Southeastern region of the country training professionals in various fields of studies. The eleventh graduation convocation of the University brought together over four thousand parents, supporters, and well-wishers on the main campus of the university. The institution presented $100 to each of graduates that achieved magna cum laude to motivate other students to excel in their fields of study.

The eleventh graduation convocation orator of the William VS Tubman University, Inspector General of the Liberia National Police Gregory O. W. Colman cautioned the graduates to embrace uncertainty, pointing out that uncertainty is not their enemies but rather a stepping stone for them to keep mustering the courage to reach their goal and realize their potential.

The Police IG described Tubman University as one of Liberia’s outstanding institutions of higher learning, noting: “Today we gather to celebrate a critical moment in your lives, a moment of dedication, resilience and hard work. You have not just completed an academic joinery here at Tubman University, but you have embarked on a new adventure.”

For his part, the president and Chief Executive Officer of Tubman University, Rev. Dr. Olu Q. Menjay, told his audience that TU was established to create an avenue for the students to have international experience through the international students and faculty exchange program.

Currently, the administrations of the University of Johannesburg and Tubman University are working on a Memorandum of Understanding to foster better partnership for the students and faculty exchange program, Dr. Menjay stated.

Outlining his achievements, the TU president said the University has secured another slot for one student to continue their undergraduate program at the Morningside University in the United States of America this December. According to him, a 2023 graduate of TU was sent to South Africa to study for a Masters in engineering.
