Rep. Kamara Lauds Government –For Support to Gbangorma Mudslide Victims

Grand Cape Mount District # 3 Representative, Emerson V. Kamara has lauded the Government of Liberia for its swift intervention and support given to the recent mudslide victims which resulted to the death of two persons in Gbangorma, Grand Cape Mount County.

Rep. Kamara said the government, through the Ministry of Internal Affairs and National Disaster Agency, was very much instrumental to have dispatched a team to the gold mine, the site of the mudslide in Gbangorma to assist with relief items.

He indicated that the government provided support to families of the victims who were recovered and later turned over by government to their families for proper burial.

The Grand Cape Mount County District #3 lawmaker noted that apart from the government’s support which he pointed out came in at the time, Representative Kamara disclosed that he personally made significant cash contribution from his own meager resources to families of the victims for the burial of the two persons who died as a result of the mudslide.

Besides, Rep. Kamara reiterated that he led the COIVID-19 campaign in District #3 by distributing safety materials like buckets, masks, soap or detergents and also carried on awareness for the prevention and containment of the virus amongst his kinsmen.

Rep. Kamara averred that since he led the campaign against COVID-19 in every town and village in his District, the citizens and residents are used to hand washing. They are accustomed to practicing all the protocols including social distancing, wearing facial masks amongst others.
