Montserrado County District # 9 Representative Munah Pelham-Youngblood, returning to active legislative duty after a protracted illness, says President George Weah is prepared to fight corruption in Liberia, no matter what his detractors may think.

Speaking Thursday to Legislative Reporters at her Capitol Building Office on Capitol Hill, Rep. Youngblood noted that when the president starts crusading against corruption, his detractors should not call it a witch-hunt.

Commenting further on the performance of the CDC led Government, Rep. Youngblood said if she were to rate the CDC-led government, grade B would be appropriate for the government, given the enormous challenges facing the government, although it is working hard to improve on development of the country for the betterment of the Liberian people.

Pinpointing some of the achievements of the Weah government, Rep. Youngblood maintained that President Weah has made significant gains within the education sector, especially as it relates to the empowerment of the country’s youth population, through the provision of tuition free opportunities and scholarships for students at government-run tertiary institutions as well as foreign institutions.

She also noted that the payment of WAEC fees for senior high school students has eased the financial burdens from parents during these stringent economic times.

Rep. Youngblood also pinpointed as achievements of the Weah administration, the construction and pavement of 200 KM of community roads directly from taxes collected.
