Monrovia College Breaks Ground For Modern School Facility

As part of its activities marking its 100 years of existence,  the Board of Trustees of the Monrovia College and Industrial Training School Inc.  has broken ground for the construction of a modern school facility, valued over one million United States Dollars which will enhance the learning standard and capacity of the students and will replace the current Monrovia College Building on Camp Johnson Road and Clay Street.

Speaking to this paper after the groundbreaking ceremony, the President of the African Methodist Episcopal University (AMEU) , Dr. Alvin E. Attah noted the Monrovia College has been in existence since 1922 and it is necessary that the AME Church invest in the institution.

He said as the Church continues to grow, the current facility of Monrovia College does not meet modern standards, adding that the facility does not have the capacity to afford students with other basic needs.

“MC building currently does not have the capacity for students to have a science lab, computer lab, Library and other essential needs  and this is why the church has decided to build a modern facility for the school,” Dr. Attah asserted.

He also noted at the same time that as long as the church is in existence, they will make sure to provide for the principal needs of mankind, noting that they will be obligated to contribute to the social and economic needs of mankind.

“And one of the thing we are strive and will do well is to meet people at the point of need particularly in the  social sector and around the world the AME have substantial investment in the education, health and social sectors and here in Liberia we are most stronger in the education sector,” he added.

The Monrovia College and Industrial Training Institute Inc. is a Christian Institution founded in 1922 with noble laying emphasis on discipline, religion scholastic and vocational achievements in conformity with the curriculum of the Ministry of Education.
