MONROVIA: The National Campaign Spokesman of the Mighty Coalition for Democratic Change has termed as provocative and harmful statements by Amb. Joseph Boakai and other opposition actors that Liberia will be eclipsed by war if there are election disputes after October 10.
Speaking to over 200 members of The Concerned Thought Intellectual Forum in District 17, Montserrado County, yesterday, Tuesday, September 26, 2023, Cllr. Kanio Bai Gbala stressed that it was very disturbing to see leading members of the opposition peddling scare tactics and rallying their followers to violence instead of preaching democracy and the Rule of Law.
Cllr. Gbala further iterated that the Mighty CDC will transparently and democratically win the elections in the first round and that any opposition actor questioning such results should utilize the courts as is customary in democratic settings.
Cllr. Gbala further took the time to remind opposition actors of their responsibilities per the Farmington Declaration and the potential criminal liabilities that could face them in the event their inciteful statements led to violence.
