LP To Hold 4th Nat’l Convention Nov. 4-6, 2022 -Charlyne Brumskine to Address Partisans

MONROVIA – The Liberty Party has announced that it will hold its 4th National Convention in Gbarnga, Bong County between the 4th and 6th of November 2022 consistent with the party’s constitution as well as a memorial program to honor the legacy of the founding father of the party, the late Cllr. Charles Walker Brumskine where his daughter, Charlyne, who is a counselor-at-law, will deliver a speech to the delegates, observers and other participants attending the convention.

According to a press release from the party and signed by Martin Saye Kollah, Secretary General of the party, the convention will commence on the morning of Thursday, November 4, 2022 with breakfast and registration between 8 am to 10 am, followed by an official opening program of the National Convention. It is expected that some special guests especially those from the local government will be in attendance alongside delegates and observers at the opening

The release stated that the first business section will be officially open on the same day by the National Chairman, commencing from 11am-1:30pm and will include the State of the Party address, issues evolving out of the National Chairman’s address and decisions of the National Convention while the second business section presided over by the National chairman will commence by 2:30pm -5:30pm and will witness the review of the party’s laws (constitution), policies and program.

The release said the section will close with the endorsement of qualified aspirants wishing to contest on the LP-CPP ticket by the National Convention.

The release further stated that on the 5th of November, 2022, the third business section will commence by 9:30am -1pm with National Chairman reporting on the activities of the Collaborating Political Parties (CPP) followed by discussion and decisions of the National Convention.

On the same day by 2pm, the Convention will hold a memorial program honoring the legacy of our Founding Father (Cllr. Charles Walker Brumskine) where the daughter of the founding father, Madam Charlyne Brumskine will deliver a special address to delegates, observers and special guest attending the convention.

   The release said that the official closing program of the National Convention will commence by 4pm with delegates, observers, scores of guests including invited opposition political parties and partisans attending.

 The National Convention, according to party’s sources, is the highest decision making body that amongst other things adopt the party’s laws, policies, programs and platform. Consistent with Article VII, the national convention meet at least once every six years.
