The Liberia Institute of Certified Public Accountant (LICPA) will hold its 10th Induction program at the Monrovia City Hall beginning at 2 PM today, Friday, March 26, 2021 where Professor Wilson K. Tarpeh, Director General of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) will deliver the Keynote address while Bishop George D. Harris of the Philadelphia Ministries International will serve as the Installing Officer.
Those to be inducted into office for a two year tenure are Messrs. Victor S.K.B. Tanwone, Sr, President Elect, Papin Daniels, Jr, Vice President and Samuel Mensah, Councilman.
According to information released by the planning committee, the inaugural theme is “Redefining the Role of the Professional Accountant: Value creation, restoring investors’ confidence and upholding the public trust”.
The Liberian Institute of Certified Public Accountants (LICPA) is the successor of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Liberia (ICPAL) which was established by an act of the National Legislature in 1933. It was established by an act of the National Legislature in June 2011 to regulate the accounting profession in Liberia. The LICPA is empowered to set standards, license accounting and assurance practitioners, build capacity and do all things appertaining to regulating the accounting and assurance professions aimed at building a strong and vibrant public accounting sector in the country.
