In Presidential proclamation by President George M. Weah on Saturday July 6, 2019, the Liberia cooperative society will alongside the Cooperative Agency (CDA) join other cooperatives to celebrate with International Cooperative Societies worldwide in observance of the Day.

The historicity of the day dates back to December 16, 1992, when the General assembly of the United Nations proclaimed the first Saturday of July every year to be celebrated as International Day of Cooperatives worldwide.

Meanwhile the Registrar General for the Liberia’s Cooperative Development Agency (CDA), Madam Regina Sokan-Teah Williams has disclosed that the official celebrations of the International Cooperative Day will be held in Ganta City, Nimba County.

Speaking on a local talk-show in Monrovia, the CDA Boss said, the FAO Country Director to Liberia will serve as guest speaker while the President of the Republic of Liberia, George M. Weah, will give a special message to the farmers.
