Labour Minster meets Capital Link Management

Labour Minister Cllr. Cooper W. Kruah, Sr. has mandated the management of Capital Link Cement Company in Buchanan, Grand Bassa County, to institute several measures, including the immediate reinstatement of one of its employees, Amos Tommy, who was illegally dismissed.

According to a Labour Ministry press release, minister Kruah also called on Capital Link management to provide transportation to its employees to convey them to and from work, as a means of ensuring conducive working conditions at the company.

The release further quotes minister Kruah as directing the company management to extend the current contractual agreement with the employees from one month to at least three to six months, with all associated benefits.

Taking these stringent administrative actions over the weekend at the Capital Link Cement Company compound on the outskirts of Buchanan City on the second leg of his ongoing nation-wide tour of labour assessment, Minister Kruah admonished to create a harmonious working environment that will motivate employees of the company for enhanced productivity.

In response, Capital Link Cement Company Chief Operating Manager, jihad Mourad assured Minister Kruah and Delegation of his fullest compliance with all mandates issue by the Labour Minister and promised to improve work conditions and Employees’ relationship.

For their part, the more than 40 employees at Capital Link Cement Company expressed appreciation to Minister Kruah for his swift intervention to alleviate problems confronting them.

Earlier, the Labour Minister and team toured work conditions at AFCONS and urged management to consider hiring more Liberians to perform delicate labour services as a means of reducing the current work load for few newspapers, particularly the maintenance department.

Labour Minister Kruah also stressed the need for the improvement in the economic standing of long term staff who have gravitated to professional levels, the Labour Ministry release added.

Meanwhile, Labour Minister Kruah is expected to visit Arcelor Mittal facilities and other concession areas in Grand Bassa County as part of his ongoing nation-wide labour assessment tour, the release concluded.
