MONROVIA: The Ministry of Labour has vehemently denounced ongoing besmear media campaign being waged against Labour Minister, Cllr. Cooper W. Kruah by the proprietor of the voice of Liberia Radio Station, Sekou Sheriff.
A Press release issued by the Public Affairs Department of the Ministry Monday recalled that in recent times, Mr. Sheriff has been using his radio station to slam false and misleading allegations against Minister Kruah linking him, among things, to widespread corruption.
But in strongly worded press release issued in Monrovia yesterday, the Labour Ministry Public Affairs Assistant Director E. Frederick Barye described all allegations being spewed against the Labour Minister by Mr. Sheriff as baseless, false, misleading and malicious, and only intended to taint the good moral legacy of Cllr. Kruah, which he has built over the years.
The release quoted Mr. Bayre as cautioning Mr. Sheriff and all other journalists to verify information regarding Minister Kruah with the Public Affairs Department of the Labour Ministry as enshrined in the journalists creed on investigative reporting.
The release further quoted the Labor Ministry’s Public Affairs Official as saying that while Minister Kruah is concentrating on pertinent issues relative to industrial harmony and peaceful work activities, the Ministry of Labour will not hesitate to institute appropriate legal action against Mr. Sheriff , should he continue his line of unprofessional journalism boiled on blackmail and slander.
