Imposters! -Labour Ministry Dismisses Five

MONROVIA – The Ministry of Labour has, with immediate effect, ordered the dismissal of five employees for their involvement in illegal activities recently carried out in Gbarpolu County.

The decision result from a on June 17, 2024 when the Superintendent of Gbarpolu County brought to the attention of the Minister of Labour, Cllr. Cooper W. Kruah, Sr., that some individuals, who had presented themselves as inspectors of the Ministry, were in Gbarpolu County arresting alleged aliens and seizing their passports under the pretext of being Ministry of Labour inspectors.

According to a Labour Ministry press release, the Ministry launched an immediate investigation into the Superintendent’s complaint and discovered that the individuals involved, though employees of the Ministry of Labour, were not inspectors.

Their activities in the county, a Labour Ministry release indicated, were illegal as they were not authorized by the Acting Minister, let alone the Minister proper.

The release further stated that following the outcome of the investigation, Labour Minister Kruah has ordered the dismissal of the five employees with immediate effect for their involvement in the illegal activities carried out in Gbarpolu County, with a similar case in Monrovia involving one of its inspectors.

The Ministry stated that its decision to dismiss these employees is intended to serve as a strong warning and deterrent to all employees of the Ministry of Labour, emphasizing that the Ministry will neither condone nor tolerate any unlawful behaviour from its employees.

The dismissed employees posing themselves as inspectors include Edwin S. Seebo, Victor S. Whymah and Samuel S. Sambola. The last two are Bill S. Ninneh and Raymond Saah (Inspector)

Meanwhile, the dismissed employees have been ordered to turn over all government properties in their possession to the Human Resource Director/Department, the released Signed by Joseph K. Nyandibo, the director of Communications & Public Affairs concluded.
