IJG Congratulates Liberia For UN Non-Permanent Seat -Says UNSC Seat Signifies Liberia’s Commitment to Peace

MONROVIA –The International Justice Group (IJG) congratulates Liberia on its election to a non-permanent seat on the United Nations Security Council on June 3, 2025. The IJG in a June 4, 2025 press release acknowledged that Liberia’s accession to the UNSC Non-Permanent Seat highlights the country’s commitment to peace and democratic governance, marking a significant moment for both the nation and Africa. The group further emphasized Liberia’s potential contribution to global peace, and security challenges and reaffirms support for the country’s ongoing justice and development efforts and pursuit of multilateral diplomacy.

The IJG said Liberia’s election to this esteemed body marks a proud moment in The Country’s history and journey from conflict to stability, and its continued dedication to democratic governance, human rights, and justice, underscoring the values that the United Nations Security Council seeks to uphold, and the values Liberia and its people are committing themselves to uphold, away from war and violent conflicts, embracing peace building unity, and reconciliation.  

“It is an onerous thrust; Liberia shall not fail. The Honorable Foreign Minister was strategic and tactical in constituting a winning team that delivered as expected. We commend the Rescue Government for projecting Liberia’s resurgence unto the International Stage in such a dramatic fashion.

“As Liberia prepares to take its seat, we hasten to emphasize that Liberia now bears the standards of an emerging peaceful, progressive and dynamic Africa; we look forward to the country’s active participation in addressing global peace and security challenges.
