Doe Family Calls for Unity, Not Divisive Rhetoric -Debunks Mamie Doe’s Spoon TV Statements as “Erroneous Noise”

MONROVIA – Hot on the heels of her June 10, 2025 blistering interview on Spoon TV Live in which she outlined a plethora of accusations against Grand Gedeh County Senator Zoe Emmanuel Pennue as being the source of her late mother’s death and the instrument of unending disunity within the Doe family, a press release emanating from seemingly a faction of the Doe Family reaffirms unwavering commitment to the values of peace, reconciliation, and unity. THE ANALYST  reports.

The Doe family registered their deep sorrow and disappointment over recent allegations made against other members of the family: Senator Zoe Emmanuel Pennue, Mrs. Lucy Doe Pennue, and the late Mr. Chayee Zoe Doe.

“These individuals are not only cherished by our family, but they have also served their communities, county and country with honor and dignity,” said the family statement. “The false claims made by an outlier member of our family, Veronica Mamie Doe on the Spoon TV platform are, to us, both heartbreaking and deeply distressing. They do not reflect the values we hold dear, nor the truth we know. These erroneous claims and allegations are extremely treacherous. They are not only hurtful and harmful to our family but completely untrue.”

The statement said a family rooted in the history and legacy of Liberia, “we have always stood as advocates for healing, dialogue, and national cohesion”.

“We urge the people of Liberia to not be swayed by the noise and confusion being circulated in the media by this self serving individuals seeking attention,” it continued. “We fully understand the painful memories that these topics of discussion evoke for many Liberians. Let us not allow distraction to take precedence over what truly matters: the collective healing, peace, and unity of our country.”

“This time of bereavement for our family calls for reflection and healing, not division,” the Doe family maintained, adding: “We therefore make a heartfelt appeal to all Liberians, regardless of political or tribal affiliation, to join us in the spirit of reconciliation and nation-building. We do not wish to cast blame on any government official, past or present. Instead, we extend our hand in partnership to all stakeholders and citizens of Liberia. Our shared goal must be the forward movement of our beloved nation.”

The Doe Family urged sympathizers to join them work together to “build a stronger, united Liberia for our children and for generations yet unborn.”

The statement was signed by The Doe Family, The Family of late President Dr. Samuel Kanyon Doe, Elders of the Doe Family, sisters of late President Samuel Kanyon Doe (Lucy Doe Pennue, Susay Doe Tody and Theresa Doe Joloka), all children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and blood relatives of late President Samuel Kanyon Doe, the Zuach Clan, and the people of Tuzon, Grand Gedeh County.
