BUCHANAN, GRAND BASSA COUNTY: She is not only ‘daddy’s girl’, ‘daddy’s teddy bag’ and namesake, Charlyne Brumskine is the fallen statesman Charles Walker Brumskine’s generic and scholarly prototype. No doubt. Like the father, Charlyne is demonstrably endowed with not only a solid IQ that makes her an acclaimed public speaker, writer and academic paragon, but also an ace jurist, given to charity and humility. How she would have wished her father was around to see her navigate the vicissitudes of life, excelling in rough places of society, seeing her serving as vice presidential candidate in national elections amongst other things. Fate denied her. But then came the soothing moment as the “better half” of hers flickered on the horizon wearing the name, mood and color of daddy. Tying the knot Saturday with her longtime suitor on November 9, the legal luminary got drowned in ecstasy and said, “I have found my father in marriage”. The Analyst reports.
It was a colorful event Saturday, November 9, 2024 in the Port City of Buchanan, Grand Bassa County, when the daughter the erudite lawyer and distinguished politician Charles Walker Brumskine, Charlyne Brumskine, was being wedded by a young enterprising Liberian, Charles Chanda Dennis, a man she said has shown her love like her late father.
Beaming with broad smiles and holding the mic extremely gingerly as if to accentuate her lovely feminine gymnastics, Charlyne Brumskine, now Charlene Brumskine-Dennis, said: “I had never been loved so deeper than the way my late father loved me. He was my harshest critic and my wildest cheerleader. Papa’ teddy bag, I had thought I would hardly get such a love from any male that commensurate my father’s until I met Charles Chanda Dennis.”
According to her, she met Mr. Charles C. Dennis in Minnesota, United States of America, living an American life after which they both decided to move back to Liberia to settle.
Cllr. Charlyne Brumskine Dennis told the gathering full of dignitaries from the Legislative and Executive Branches of government that three months after they returned to Liberia, she informed her husband that she wanted to be a member of the National Legislature by contesting in Grand Bassa electoral district three.
According to her Mr. Dennis responded to her expressed ambition with cool, telling her they had just come back home to Liberia, to live a life out of politics, but however finally told her, “I will stand by you in whatever you want”, and he stood by her in every corner that she traveled during the political process, even when she later chose to contest on the ticket of the Alternative National Congress (ANC) as a running mate to its Standard Bearer, Alexander B. Cummings.
Cllr. Charlyne Brumskine Dennis used her wedding ceremony which was held at the residence of Grand Bassa County Senator and President Pro Tempore of the Liberian Senate Nyonblee Kanga-Lawrence to thank her husband for being a total replica of her late father.
“The only thing I can say to you now is, ‘thanking you so much for standing in the shoes that I thought no one could fill; you have been such a God-sent as seen and felt from your kindness and so much love to me.’”
Cllr. Brumskine-Dennis also lauded Senator Nyonblee Kanga-Lawrence, former first lady Clar Marie Weah and other officials of government as well as family members and friends for the love they have shown her.
The lucky man, Mr. Charles C. Dennis, also made brief remarks at the ceremony, thanking his wife, Cllr. Charlyne Brumskine Dennis, for being what he terms as his chief organizer.
He also had fond works for his mother-in-law, Mrs. Estelle Vicki Brumskine, who he said wholeheartedly welcomed him into the family.
Mr. Dennis also appreciated House Speaker Cllr. J. Fonati Kofa former Liberty Chairman and Nimba County District #7 representative Musa Hassan Bility and the entire gathering for making his program a success.
According to him, it has been a joyous moment since he met his wife and partner, Cllr. Charlyne Brumskine Dennis, something that makes him a happy man who will continue to be that ‘blessed husband’.
For his part, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Cllr. J. Fonati Kofa, said the Brumskines have loved all of their children and praised Charlyne for always walking in the path of her father.
The House Speaker also said it is only Cllr. Charlyne Brumskine Dennis having an event where the two blocs –adversarial groups – were present, a gathering he terms “great and wonderful”.
Speaker Kofa noted that it is a blessing for him to be a part of the Brumskine family. “I am so grateful that Mrs. Estelle Brumskine, Charlyne and the rest of the family have accepted us to be one,” he further noted.
Speaker Cllr. J. Fonati Kofa also indicated that there have been difficult times even as families but one thing that continue to hold them together was the vision bearer of the Liberty Party, the late Cllr. Charles Walker Brumskine.
Former Liberty Party Chairman and Nimba County District #7 representative Musa Hassan Bility also spoke, describing the traditional wedding ceremony as an event intended to celebrate the legacy of the founding father of the Liberty Party Cllr. Charles Walker Brumskine.
Representative Bility said, “You know I were looking at our table; we are four chairpersons of the Liberty Party sitting on this side; tonight, I believe this is the celebration of the legacy of Cllr. Charles Walker Brumskine.”
The former chairman of the Liberty Party lauded the attendees of the occasion as well as Mr. and Mrs. Charles C. Dennis for their union and pledge his continued support to the family.
Held at the residence of Grand Bassa County Senator and the Pro Temp of the Liberian Senate and political leader of the Liberty Party, Senator Nyonblee Kanga-Lawrence although in her absence, the wedding ceremony brought together several past and present officials of government, including House Speaker Cllr. J. Fonati Kofa, former Pro Temp Albert T. Chie, former First Lady Clar Weah, Montserrado County Senator Abraham Darius Dillon, Grand Bassa County Senator Gbehzohngar Milton Findley, and Montserrado District #9 representative Frank Saah Foko.
Others are former Montserrado County District #8 Representative Moses Acarius Gray, Deputy Information Minister Daniel Sando, former Deputy Education Minister Latim Da-thong, assistant labor minister Emmanuel Barnes among others.
I’ve read a few good stuff here. Certainly worth bookmarking for revisiting. I wonder how much effort you put to make such a great informative site.
Yeah bookmaking this wasn’t a risky decision outstanding post! .
Unquestionably believe that that you stated. Your favorite reason appeared to be at the internet the simplest thing to remember of. I say to you, I certainly get annoyed even as other folks consider concerns that they just don’t recognise about. You managed to hit the nail upon the top and defined out the whole thing without having side effect , people could take a signal. Will likely be back to get more. Thank you
