Huge Turn Out for Cummings in Bomi -As Citizens Pledge Support

MONROVIA – Goghen Town in Clay District, Bomi County was a scene of a major political attraction over the weekend when the Political Leader and Standard Bearer of the Alternative National Congress(ANC), Mr. Alexander Cummings, stormed the area amid huge turn out from the local citizens and residents, made up of hundreds of supporters, rural dwellers, backed by cultural and traditional dancers and auxiliary groups who had been around awaiting his entourage as party of the politician’s ongoing national engagements with his supporters and other Liberians with the view of solidifying his support base and reaching out to others to sell his platform against the 2023 general elections.

At a colorful ceremony held in his honor, the chiefs, elders, women and youth groups in their respective statements expressed their support and pledged to work with the ANC in Bomi County to ensure a resounding victory for Cummings in the ensuing 2023 elections.

During the program, a local agriculture group, the World Foundation International (WFI), with an estimated 3,500 farmers based in the town, honored the businessman turned politician by satching him and presenting him a certificate of honor, designating him as “WFI Farmers’ Ambassador” and pledging their unflinching support towards his presidential bid

According to our reporter who monitored the event, the various statements of support from the local groups, which also included the chiefs and elders highlighted and did knowledge the enviable international record and excellent leadership style exhibited thus far, which, according to them are the leadership qualities needed to institute real change in Liberia.

In response, Cummings, who was visibly excited about the gathering and the massive welcome he received from the people, expressed gratitude to the people of Goghen Clan for the warm welcome and statements of support and solidarity for his presidential ambition in 2023. He spoke of the country’s rich and vast natural resources and the sharp contrast in the deplorable living conditions of the masses.

He blamed the massive suffering and terrible living conditions of the people, especially in rural Liberia, to the high level of stealing by and incompetence of public officials in President George Weah’s administration.

He assured Liberians that with a Cummings Presidency, corruption will be arrested and Liberians will experience unprecedented improvement in their living conditions, by attracting foreign direct investments and creation of jobs and opportunities.

He made a clarion call to all well-meaning Liberians including men, women and youth groups for their support to vote out President Weah, whom he considered as the head of the most corrupt and inept administration ever in the history of Liberia.

Goghen town, according to official statistics from previous elections, has roughly 2,000 registered voters. The visit was characterized by masked cultural dancing by both the Sande and Poro societies and was attended by rural dwellers from nearby towns and villages in Clay District, Bomi County.
