Grand Kru Citizens Petition Dr. Alfred Segbe – To Contest Mid-Term Senatorial Election

As a result of his experiences, political vision/platform, and philosophy regarding Grand Kru County, and ultimately Liberia, some citizens of Grand Kru County have petitioned Dr. Alfred Toe Segbe to contest on December 8, 2020 the mid-term Senatorial Election in Grand Kru County as an Independent Senate Candidate.

The Grand Kru citizens said following years of educational training and services to their communities and the nation, Dr. Segbe has acknowledged the challenges involved in copping in their communities and has accepted to serve his county, Grand Kru and Liberia at large.

“Fellow Grand Kru County citizens, we have assessed Dr. Alfred Toe Segbe’s experiences, political vision/platform, and philosophy regarding Grand Kru County, and ultimately Liberia. Undoubtedly, Dr. Alfred Toe Segbe is an experienced professional in designing solutions regarding social development for Urban and Rural communities,” a statement issued by the petitioners contained.

The citizens indicated that Dr. Segbe is accustomed to working with and around divers groups to create a community that is the foundation for the participation of citizens towards building their communities.

“Consistent with the preceding, we declare and file this public petition in favor Dr. Alfred Toe Segbe, and request him to contest on December 8, 2020, the mid-term Senatorial Election in Grand Kru County as an Independent Senate Candidate,” the statement said.

In their statement the citizens told Dr. Segbe, “Over the years, our involvement and interactions with you showed you are a selfless, empathetic character, and one who unites to lead divers groups when building a collaborating community to spur growth and social development.”

They said in one of his writings, Dr. Segbe stressed that the dead weight of corruption, lack of empathy, and selflessness have killed the growth of Liberia and our County.

“These words have become a foundation and a beacon of hope for us that you will resist corruption, tailor a targeted development plan for Grand Kru County, and focus on transforming the social and economic lifestyle of our beloved County, Grand Kru.” The citizens pointed out

They said in one of the beneficiaries’ citizen participation meetings, he mentioned that “It is the moral responsibility of every generation to prepare the next and succeeding generation,”  indicating further that those words are evidence that education, employment opportunities, youth, and women empowerment are core to Dr. Segbe’s love  for the people of Grand Kru County and Liberia.

“Now, therefore, fellow citizens, we call on the entire Grand Kru citizens to join this cause to elect Dr. Alfred Toe Segbe as the next Senator for Grand Kru County,” the statement concluded.
