Former Deputy Chief of Staff Pens Thank You Message -As she is Pick for New Position

MONROVIA: The outgoing Deputy Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of Liberia (AFL) Brigadier Geraldine Janet George has expressed many thanks and appreciation to God and several persons and institution for honor and support given to her during her tenure as Deputy Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of Liberia and look forward to a new challenge after her appointment as Deputy Minister of Operations, Ministry of National Defense.

In the message which she posted and share from her Facebook page, Madam George who is the first female Liberian army officer to have reached at that level thanked “my Heavenly Father for sparing my life to see this day, and for His grace, guidance and favour upon me throughout the period of my service to my dear Country, Liberia as an officer of the Armed Forces of Liberia (AFL). To God be the glory and may His Name be praised”.

“I also have the honour to most sincerely appreciate our Former President, His Excellency George Manneh Weah, for appointing me as the Deputy Chief of Staff (DCOS) AFL, thereby putting me on the world stage, which afforded me the opportunity to work with other Chiefs of  Defense Staff (The Gentleman’s Club). Being the only female, I had the opportunity of making decisions for Africa on behalf of Liberia. This gave other Generals reasons to also come along with female officers to the CDS conferences.

“My special thanks go to Major General Prince C Johnson for giving me the ambience to serve as his DCOS for the period while he was the COS AFL, thank you sir.

“To the gallant men and women of the AFL, words can’t express my gratitude for the support you accorded me during my tenure as DCOS. You all made my work easy with your cooperation.

“To my family, I say thank you for standing by me throughout my career. My success wouldn’t have been possible without your prayers and support. You guys have been my inspiration.

“Congratulations to me on my retirement.

“My dedication to duty, commitment to honor, and love for our country was an inspiration to me.

“As I take up my new responsibilities as a retired general, It is my fervent prayer that the AFL will continue to prosper in all endeavors. I thank the President, Commander-in-Chief of the AFL, His Excellency Joseph Boakai for finding me worthy of the new appointment. I pray that God will continue to prosper our dear nation Liberia.

“Once again, I thank you all, and congratulations to me on my retirement.” she concluded.
