Ahead of the 2020 mid-term senatorial election and 2023 presidential and legislative elections, the opposition Liberty Party (LP), has increased its membership with the enrolment of two new members including former senatorial candidate for Grand Cape Mount County, Dr. Fodee Kromah, and Dr. James Kemokai also from Grand Cape Mount.

The enlistment of the two new members into its fold followed the endorsement of another four new members who joined the party few weeks ago.

Speaking at a ceremony marking the enrolment of the two new members to the membership of the LP yesterday, Wednesday June 10 at the Liberty Party Headquarters in Congo Town, one of the newly recruited members, Dr. Kromah said he joins the party to help and bring the vision of the late Cllr. Bruskine to reality.

He said he listened to the vision of the Founder and Stander-Bearer of the Liberty Party, the late Cllr. Charles W. Bruskine which has to do with his plan to make Liberia better, and was persuaded by it, noting that it was based on this vision that he decided to join the party in order to assist in bringing it to fruition.

The second person that joined the party yesterday, Dr. James Kemokai, told the gathering that he has been contemplating on joining a political party, but had not known which one until he made the decision to join ranks with the Liberty Party.

For Dr. Kemokai, he believes that the Liberty Party is the best place for him to be. “Over the time I have been thinking which political party to be part of; and I finally decided that Liberty Party is the best place for me.”

Endorsing the two new members, the Political Leader of the Liberty Party, Senator Nyonblee Karnga-Lawrence expressed her gratitude to Kromah and Kemokai and welcomed the two new members to the fold of the party.

“Today, I am very grateful; and I want to first say thanks to the Liberty party, the National Advisory Committee and the Executive Committee of the party.

Senator Karnga also welcomed new members heartily to the party and urged them to join hands to with the rest of the partisans by adding value to the party.

The LP’s political leader furthered that the CPP is searching for four female candidates in the up-coming senatorial election, adding that the Liberty Party already has three winnable female candidates out of the four needed by Coalition of Political Parties (CPP).

Sen. Lawrence asserted that the female leader on the CPP ticket will not be willing to trade any female candidate for any man.

“I want to announce here today, as the only female leader on the CPP ticket, that we will not be willing to trade our women for any man in the upcoming election, and I will be in the forefront to oppose that.”

Meanwhile, the chairman of the Liberty Party, Lofa County Senator Steven Zargo, said he is overwhelmed as a chairman of the Party because few days ago the former Superintendent of Sinoe County and a two-time senatorial candidate, Former Grand Kru County Superintendent Madam Rosaline Sneh, as well as former Deputy Speaker, amongst others, joined the Party. Senator Zargo said he was elated to again witness another two relevant personalities joining the party, which he said speaks volume to the work of the party.

The LP chairman also called on other Liberians and well-meaning politicians to come and join the party in order to seek better Liberia.
