Dahn Donates to Dist. #7 -Warns Against Politicizing Use of Ambulance

MONROVIA – A son of Electoral District # 7 in Montserrado County, Emmanuel Dahn, has accorded the battle against the deadly Coronavirus Pandemic a major boost with a donation of an ambulance to cater for the health needs of the district, which was greeted with jubilations by a mammoth crowd of residents of the district into the streets.

The donation by Mr. Dahn came at a time Liberia continues to wrestle with COVID-19 related cases of ailment and deaths across the country.

Dahn, a Liberian journalist, who runs the Joy FM 101.5 and contested the Representative seat of District #7 in 2017, had donated several hand- washing buckets for use by dwellers of the area as part of his initially contribution to the fight against the Covid-19. He also established a COVID-19 task force within the District.

During the official presentation ceremony held at the West Point football field, Mr. Dahn informed the impressive gathering that the donation of the ambulance had no political motive. Instead, he made it known that the move was in fulfillment of a promise made during his 2017 campaign season.

He acknowledged that it was important that the donations be made at at such a critical time during the country’s health crisis.

“I want to state here for the record that this is a promise that was kept, and is now being delivered to the people of this great Electoral District in Montserrado County and Liberia at large,” Dahn stated.

The Joy FM 101.5 Chief Executive Officer (CEO) declared: “In times like these when our people are faced with serious health crisis, we are under obligation to do the little we can as citizens because the government alone cannot do it all.”

Having thought it wise and appropriate to secure an ambulance for the people of District #7, he added that whenever there is a health emergency, the ambulance team will be available to convey any patient to whatever health center desired.

He warned residents, mainly authorities of the district, against politicizing the usage of the ambulance on grounds that the current pandemic is not selective in taking away lives.

Receiving the donation, the Commissioner of the Township of West Point, William Wea offered heartfelt thanks and appreciation to Mr. Dahn for the gesture.

Mr. Wea also warned against anyone politicizing the ambulance in the wake of the current COVID-19 fight, and promised that it will indeed be used for the purpose intended.

Meanwhile, as of Tuesday, June 10, 2020, a total of 7,277,489 totals confirmed cases and 412,106 deaths were reported worldwide by the United States-based Johns Hopkins University.
