CPP New Chair Visits Caucus – CPP Legislative Agenda Projected

The new Chairman of the Collaborating Political Parties (CPP), Mr. Alexander B. Cummings of the Alternative National Congress last Thursday visited the Capitol Building, the Seat of the National Legislature where he met with some members of the CPP Legislative Caucus.

The meeting, he said, was attended by several Representatives and Senators along with two of the CPP’s Political Affairs Officers and Advisers, Hon. Thomas Goshua, Ms. Telia Urey, Cllr. Murphy Kanneh and Atty. Orishall Gould (had to leave early). Others in attendance were his Chief of Staff, Atty. Moriah Yeakula..

Mr. Cummings expressed belief that his engagement with some members of the CPP Legislative Caucus has set the tone for a renewed partnership and an end to the CPP’s episodic engagements. “We agreed to work together and begin to champion the cause of the Liberian people through an agreed upon CPP Legislative agenda,” he said.

The ANC political leader and chairman of the CPP indicated that they also committed, as political parties, to provide guidance and leadership to the CPP’s lawmakers in keeping the government of the Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) accountable.

“I am hopeful about the future of our Legislative engagements which will be the focus of the CPP Political Affairs Office,” he said, adding, “I can assure you all of a vibrant CPP Legislative caucus as we chart a new course on this journey.”
