Commerce Ministry Embarks on Inspection and Compliance Audit

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) will on the 26th January 2021 embark on its first nationwide general market inspection from 10 AM to 4:00PM daily.

The nationwide general market inspection, expected to be concluded on Tuesday, March 2, 2021, will be undertaken to remove all unwholesome products from the Liberian market.

The exercise is also intended to regulate prices of basic commodities and set up mechanism for price control on commodities throughout the country.

The exercise will focus on businesses engaged in fresh and frozen food items, rice, flour, starches, petroleum products and automotive materials.

Other areas of focus include beverages, dairy and second-hand products, electrical, electronics and building materials.
