Late evening reports reaching The Analyst indicates that government security forces have picked Central Bank Deputy Governor Charles Sirleaf, Son of Ex-President Ellen Johnson, barely three hours following the release of independent investigative reports on the alleged L$16 billion.
A highly placed source who prefers not to be named in print because he was not authorized to talk to the press on the matter said Mr. Sirleaf’s arrest has something to do with the investigative reports which revealed violations and breaches of Liberian laws in the handling of the printing of the alleged L$16 billion.
The source said there would certainly be more arrests as the government draws dragnet around individuals who played key roles in contracting firm, printing, importation and receiving
of the money.
President Weah has long promised that culprits from the investigations would not be spared from the full weight of the law.
