MONROVIA: Malcolm X once said, “Education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today”, an adage that might have well been written with Attorney Kunkunyon Wleh Teh in mind. The promising youthful Liberian lawyer has just added another feather in his cap with his appointment on the Governance Committee of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), a position that he occupies for the next four years.
According to a 29 November 2023 communication from CAF to Atty. Kunkunyon Wleh Teh, the Executive Committee under the leadership of the CAF President Dr. Patrice Motsepe has unanimously passed a resolution confirming Atty. Teh’s appointment for a period of four years with effect from 18 November 2023.
“Enclosed, you will find the CAF Statutes to guide you as you undertake the responsibilities entrusted to you by the Statutes and the CAF Executive Committee.
“Your role is pivotal in upholding the governance standards of CAF, and we are fully committed to supporting you as you transition into this position,” the CAF communication, which is in our possession, read.
Attorney Kunkunyon Wleh Teh is a graduate of the Louis Arthur Grimes School of Law, University of Liberia (LLB, General Law). He also holds a Masters of Law (LLM) degree from Emory University School of law, located in Atlanta, Georgia, U.S.A. His graduate program was tailored around General Practice, Ethics and Professionalism, and Constitutional Law). Before studying law, Atty. Teh earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) from Cuttington University.
He has spent most part of his career doing integrity work at the National Elections Commission, the Financial Intelligence Unit of Liberia, and a Special Presidential Task Force on Corruption.
Atty. Teh currently practices law as a partner at the International Law Group, LLC, and at the same time lectures Constitutional Law, Administrative Law, and the Law of Evidence at the African Methodist Episcopal Zion University (AMEZU) in Liberia. He is a current member of the Executive Council of the Liberian National Bar Association.
He is a member of the Judicial Inquiry Commission of the Supreme Court of Liberia, and former Board Member, Bea Mountain Football Club, Liberia. He is also Chairman of the Liberia Football Association (LFA) Ethics Committee.
An independent practicing lawyer, Atty. Teh is chairman of the National County Meet Appeals Committee.
