Shagbeah, pioneer for women in heavy-duty operations at ArcelorMittal Liberia is making waves in the mining industry and encouraging women to be steadfast and pursue their ambitions in traditionally male-dominated fields. With a remarkable journey from a taxi driver to AML’s first female wheel loader operator at the port, Mardea is a beacon of inspiration for women across Liberia.Recruited in 2008 as a light-duty driver, Mardea’s determination and skill led her to undergo specialized trainings, ultimately becoming a certified wheel loader operator.
