Who’s Undermining Boakai’s Appointing Powers in Sinoe? -Tarjuowon Global Alliance Alerts Superintendent Nyensuah

A local pressure group, the Tarjuowon Global Alliance (TARGA) of Sinoe origin, says there are “disgruntled elements” in Tarjuowon Statutory District allegedly undermining President Boakai’s constitutional authority to appoint, and is calling on Sinoe County Superintendent Peter Wleh Nyensuah to intervene.

In a letter dated February 14, 2025 and addressed to Superintendent Nyensuah, a copy obtained from the Facebook Page of the organization, TARGA noted it was acquainting Hon. Nyensuah with the “disturbing incident taking place in our motherland, the Tarjuowon Statutory District: attempts by elements within the district to undermine, disrupt, disrespect and sabotage His Excellency President Nyuma Boakai’s authority in the district, with respect to the appointment of Superintendent Annie Pobleh.”

The communication called on the Sinoe superintendent to take not of the fact that Hon. Pobleh was duly nominated by the President, confirmed by the Honorable Senate of the 55th National Legislature, and subsequently issued official appointment letter by the President.

“While the Tarjuowon Statutory District Superintendent is on the ground awaiting her induction, a handful of anti-President Boakai forces in the district continue to ignore her presence, downplay and undermine her authority by, amongst other things, convening district meetings, inviting ex-acting Superintendent Joe Sumo and referring to him as superintendent proper.”

TARGA said it is its understanding that there are a few disgruntled elements in Tarjuowon who claim that they are being denied political appointments by President Boakai since their contribution to the President’s victory, which is these elements have vowed to do everything possible to undermine the President’s Authority everywhere in Sinoe County, particularly Tarjuowon district whence they hail.

“We call on you to keep your official eye on Tarjuowon over this incident,” the group implored Superintendent Nyensuah in the letter.

TARGA is a dynamic, free thinking and professionally grounded Tarjuowon organization firmly committed to uniting, defending and promoting all citizens of Tarjuowon, both homebased and diasporic, and to cultivate relations with external friendly forces for the purpose of amplifying and harnessing productive policies, programs and activities for the good of the motherland.

The group called for the official attention and intervention of Sinoe Superintendent “to this troubling development that is seemingly undermining the President’s Authority and the District’s first female superintendent.”
