A controversy concerning the leakage of a report by the Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission (LACC) has drawn the commission’s attention’s, assuring the public that persons involved in the leaking of its report will be dealt with in keeping with law.
Accordingly, the LACC takes seriously this situation, and has commissioned an immediate investigate into the leakage of its draft report in keeping with LACC’s zero tolerance for breach of confidentiality.
A press release issued on July 12, 2019 in reaction to the July 12 edition of the Costa Show quoted Mr. Costa as claiming to have in his possession a copy of a report allegedly released by the LACC implicating Mr. Abu Kamara, a candidate of the Congress for Democratic Change in the upcoming by-election for District #15 in Montserrado County for receiving double salary payments.
The press statement said the LACC informed the public that it started its restitution program as far back as 20114/2015 re-accentuated the commencement of the commission restitution program as far back as 2014-2015 when several institutions and individuals were made to paid millions of Liberian dollars into government coffer as a result of LACC’s investigation.
In recent time, several former officials, current and private citizens were investigated by the LACC are making restitution to the government in a special account opened at the Liberia revenue Authority (LRA), saying that in short, the restitution process is not a new phenomenon.
The report involving Mr. Kamara and many others were similar situation began long before the by-elections started.

The commission said is seriously concerned about the leakage of its draft report and views the act as an attempt to undermine its integrity and credibility.
