“We Are Focused On Sustaining the Peace” -ADML Chair Dahn Vows

MONROVIA : The Chairman of the African Democratic Movement of Liberia (ADML), one of the 10 newest political institutions certificated and accredited by the National Elections Commission(NEC), Mr. Adolphus Dahn says the party’s major priority is to ensure that that the peace of the country is sustained.

Chairman Dahn made the statement on Tuesday, May 30, 2023 when he spoke briefly in an interview following the National Election Commission (NEC) official accreditation and certification of the party, along with nine other political parties as full-fledged political parties in the Republic of Liberia.

“It was a long journey to get here and we are grateful to the Almighty God and the hard working team of our party. We are going to work hard to gain the trust and admiration of the Liberian people as we move towards the upcoming presidential and legislative elections”, he said

He used the occasion to call all patriotic and well -meaning Liberians to join hands with the ADML Vision Bearer and presidential aspirant Dr. George Parkinson Gonpu to transform the country and improve the living standard of the people.

Mr. Dahn made it known that the party will feature legislative candidates in the 15 political subdivision of the country, revealing that the process will begin from the party’s convention which will be held soon to enable partisans elect their choice of candidates in a democratic process.

He expressed gratitude to the National Elections Commission (NEC) and said the recognition by the Commission is a milestone for the party and the people of Liberia.

On Tuesday, the National Election Commission (NEC) officially accredited and certificated additional ten new political parties with just four months ahead of the October 10, Presidential and legislatives elections.

The Political parties include, African Democratic Movement of Liberia (ADML), United Independent Democrat (UID), National Development Party (NDP), All Liberians Solidarity Party (ALSOP), Reformers National Congress (RNC) and the Greater Action Party of Liberia (GAPL).

Other parties are, African Liberation League (ALL), Grassroots Development Movement (GSM), Liberia First Movement (LFM) and the Liberia Rebuilding Party (Rebuilding).

Officially presentations the certification to the newly accredited parties, NEC chairperson Madam Davidetta Brown-Lansanah said that the accreditation and certifications of the newly political parties is in keeping with Article 79 of  Constitution of Liberia.

“Following a thorough and pleased to inform you that the above stated Political parties have met all the legal requirements to be satisfied as a full flesh register Political parties within the Republic of Liberia. Having said that, I will like to call all chairmen of the above parties to come out and officially receive their certificates”, she stated.

Reading the inscription on the certificates as she presented them to the individual parties, Madam Davidetta Brown-Lansanah, Chairperson of NEC, noted that “this is to satisfy that the above parties have fulfilled all the requirements for registration as  political parties as provided for in Article 79 of the constitution of Liberia and the NEC guidelines and regulations relating to the formation and establishment of a political party to operate in Liberia. For so doing, the NEC hereby declares and accredits all of these parties here present as duly registered political parties with all of the rights and privileges as pertaining thereto” she concluded.
