VP Taylor Off to Sierra Leone for Sexual & Health Rights Confab

Vice President Jewel Howard-Taylor departed Monrovia on Sunday, June 26, 2022 for Freetown Sierra Leone to an international conference on Sexual & Health Rights Conference on the invitation of the First Lady, Mrs. Fatima Bio.

According to a press release from the Office of the Vice President, the event is the 10th Conference on Sexual and Health Rights where Mrs. Taylor is expected to deliver a solidarity statement to underscore the importance of the occasion

The statement further said that the conference is being hosted by Purposeful Organization, a nongovernmental organization where the Sierra Leonean first lady is the chief patron. It is expected to bring together about 900 participants from across the continent, including Liberia and is also being convened by the African Federation for Sexual Health and Rights under the theme, “Accelerating the Elimination of Sexual and Gender-Based Violence in Africa.”

“While in Sierra Leone, Vice President Jewel Howard- Taylor will be meeting with his Sierra Leonean counterpart, Vice President Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh, other top officials of the Government of Sierra Leone, the Ambassador and staff of the Embassy of Liberia in Freetown and beneficiaries of her Jewel Starfish Foundation at Fourah Bay College, University of Sierra Leone”, the release concluded.
