MONROVIA: The Unity Party (UP) through its Campaign Machinery, “The Rescue Mission” has been updating the public about its campaign activities which it said began on August 22, 2023 with Districts 11 and 12 led by Amb. Joseph Nyuma Boakai affectionately called “Rescue 1”, followed by District 8 on August 23, 2023, Districts 4 and 6 on August 26 and on August 27, 2023, the party toured Districts 3 and 5.
In a press release issued by the party and signed by Mohammed Ali, Campaign Spokesman, the party said with minimum resources, the Montserrado Campaign Team led by Sen. Abraham Darius Dillon working in close collaboration with the UP Montserrado Leadership headed by Robert Bestman, have been able to pull out a well-organized and well behaved crowds in each of the electoral District toured thus far. The release further said the team has also been working with other political parties and independent legislative candidates that have already endorsed the Rescue Mission.
“The National Campaign Team of the UP and the Rescue Mission take this time to appreciate the resolute and resolved people of the abovementioned districts who have turned out in their numbers to show support for the UP Standard Bearer and the Rescue Mission. The Team, on behalf of Amb. Joseph N. Boakai and Sen. Jeremiah Kpan Koung, extend special thanks and appreciation to the hundreds of motorcyclists who have been voluntarily escorting Rescue 1 to and from the various rallies. We also appreciate all the various trade union organizations that have shown immense support for the Rescue Mission.
“The Rescue Mission is even more grateful to the thousands of Liberians including youths, women, and the elderly who attended the Protect Your Vote Rally at the Rescue Center on August 24, 2023.
We hereby report to the Liberian people that the rally raised more than 1.8 Million Liberian Dollars.
“In the same vein, Sen. Jeremiah Kpan Koung (Rescue 2) and Sen. Prince Y. Johnson are leading the Rescue Team on the Nimba tour.
The tour has taken the team to Sanniquellie Mah, Gbehlay Geh, Zoe Geh, and Saclepea Mah Administrative Districts.
“The people of Nimba have shown their resolve to elect the Rescue Ticket in no small way by the mammoth crowds that have turned out at each of the rallies in the county.
“The Rescue Mission extends thanks and appreciation to the people of Nimba thus far for the show of Support.
“In Bong County, the Campaign Manager, Sen. Prince Kermue Moye is leading the Rescue Team on a county-wide tour while the Rescue Mother and Campaign Chair, Sen. Nyonblee Karnga-Lawrence is spearheading and directing the team in Grand Bassa County.
“At the same time, Senator James Biney and his powerful team, are currently turning the entire Southeastern belt upside down while the Rescue Teams in the various counties including Bomi, Gbarpolu, Cape Mount, Rivercess, and Lofa are active in towns and villages.
“The work to ensure a one round victory and make President George Oppong Weah a one term president is well on course as the tours continue in the various counties”, the release conclude.
