Rainbow Alliance Hails CPP for Inclusive Step

The Rainbow Alliance (RA), a conglomeration of more than eight opposition registered political parties in Liberia, has hailed the four Collaborating Political Parties (CPP) particularly the Alternative National Congress (ANC) for the smooth transitioning of the Chairmanship to the female political leaders of the Liberty Party (LP).    Turning over the mantle of leadership of the CPP to Senator Nyonblee Karnga-Lawrence, the Rainbow further said, signifies that Liberia has taken a great step towards an inclusive democratic process.

Dan Saryee who also spoke for the Rainbow Alliance bloc in the opposition also implores the opposition blocs work towards improving the lives of the Liberian people by their contributions not necessarily as single unit but through collaborate efforts to save the Liberian people from the situation they are faced with.

The a framework binging four the opposition parties into the CPP which includes the Unity Party (UP), Liberty Party (LP), Alternative National Congress (ANC) and the All Liberia Party (ALP) has  assigned each of the collaborating parties the opportunity to their chairmanship for eight months in keeping with a framework document binding the four parties in their collaboration.

Mr. Sarwee, who is the Chairman of the Movement for Economic Empowerment (MOVEE), exclaimed that “Liberia is going down the drain, and noted that it affects members of the CPP and also affects members in the Rainbow Alliance”.

Saryee, a former Deputy Managing Director for the Liberia Water & Sewer Corporation (LW&SC), indicated further that the current state of the Country requires personalities in the opposition blocs -who have something to offer, to come together at once to make their contributions not necessarily as single unit – but to collaborate efforts to save the Liberian people from the situation they are faced with.

Dan Saryee who was at the transitional ceremony made the assertions on behave of the Rainbow Alliance during the ceremony marking the handover of the mantle of authority from the ANC’s Alexander Cummings to the Liberty Party’s Nyonblee Karnga-Lawrence on Wednesday, February 3, 2021, at the Headquarters of Alternative National Congress in Sinkor Monrovia.

Our reporter who attende4d the ceremonies noticed that the program was graced by several other non-membered political institutions of the opposition bloc, including the Rainbow Alliance.       Saryee also thanked the ANC leader for navigating the affairs of CPP over through the rough political space of the country for the last eight months.

The elaborate ceremony of the CPP transition of powers from the ANC to the LP at the Headquarters of the ANC in Sinkor was graced by opposition political parties from the two political blocs of the CPP and the Rainbow Alliance.

The Liberty Party’s Political Leader, Grand Bassa County Senator Nyonblee Karnga – Lawrence, who assumed the CPP leadership from ANC leader Cummings will steer the affairs of the forefront opposition collaboration for the next eight month before the former ruling Unity party can access the chairmanship of the CPP .

MOVEE’s Saryee, who represented the Rainbow Alliance at the ceremony, also gave CPP credit in recognizing and making sure that the gavel is passed to a female, which according to him, signifies that Liberia has yet taken a great step towards an inclusive democratic process.

He continued, “We want to encourage the opposition that Liberian people have so much expectation today as evident by the way people are mobilized because they expect a lot from us. The biggest charge is 2023. Please remain engage, conscious as we find way in which we can solve our country problem,” he admonished his colleagues.
