Qatar donates three truckloads of medical equipment To Liberia -To Boosts GoL’s efforts to contained COVID-19
The Government of the State of Qatar has donated three truckloads of medical equipment and supplies including ventilators among others to the Liberian Government to contained COVID-19.
The official turning over ceremony of the medical equipment and supplies was held Thursday at the C. Cecil Dennis, Jr. Auditorium at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Monrovia.
Speaking during the Ceremony, the Charge’D Affaires, of the Embassy of the State of Qatar, Mr. Fahad Rashid Al-Marekhi expressed delight of his been in Liberia and extended appreciation to the Liberian government headed by president George Weah for what he turned as an excellent The project was financed by Qatar Charity and implemented by the state of Qatar near Monrovia.
According to Mr. Al-Marekhi, the donation was a symbol of friendship between both countries as the world goes through this challenging health emergency.
Speaking on behalf of the ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Sherdrick M. Jackson, Assistant Minister for International Cooperation and Economic Affairs thanks the Quataree government on behalf of the government and people of Liberia.
Minister Jackson, at the same time turned over the equipment to the ministry of health and encouraged the ministry to use the medical equipment and supplies for the intended purpose.
For his part, Abraham Nyeuswah, IMS Coordinator on Pillar lend received the supplies on behalf of the Minister of Health Dr. Willimina Jallah, and praised the farsightedness of the government of Qatar during these difficult Covid -19 period and assured the appropriate use of the medical equipment and supplies for the benefit of the Liberian people and residents of Liberia.
